DMC Formation

DIU Municipal Council, a local Self Government institution established during the Portuguese regime in the year 1613. It is amongst the Oldest Municipalities of Asia.

The DIU Municipal Council Known as “Camara De Damao” having the jurisdiction over entire district of DIU till the date of Liberation on 19th Dec 1961

Future Plans

Construction of Shopping Centre and Multipurpose Hall Near PHC, Ghoghla-Diu.

Slum Development and rehabilitation Scheme near Raberi Road at Diu (To improve Sanitation)

Providing Sewage / Sewerage System with treatment plant in Municipal Area of Diu Town.

Solid Waste Management Project for the Diu Municipal Council, Diu.

Construction of new Vegetable Market in Diu Municipal Council, Diu.

Construction of drains for rainy / storm water at Gandhipara, Diu.

Upgradation / widening of narrow roads / streets in the Diu Municipal area, Diu.

Constructing of flood protection wall/platform in the Diu Municipal Council, Diu.

Construction of Slaughter House behind Khatkiwada, Diu.
